Joêl lives under the care of his parents. His home duties include running errands. Joêl is the only child in his family. For fun Joêl likes playing with friends. He attends Sunday school & church and Bible class regularly. Please remember Joêl in your prayers. Your love and support will help him to receive the assistance he needs to grow and develop.
Joêl lives on the plains of Samandin, home to approximately 40,700 residents. Typical houses are constructed of dirt floors, mud brick walls and tin roofs. The primary ethnic group is Mossi and the most commonly spoken language is Moore.
The regional diet consists of maize, beans, chicken, guinea pig, fish, bread, beef, millet, rice and goat. Common health problems in this area include malaria, meningitis, typhoid, coughs and high blood pressure. Most adults in Samandin are unemployed but some work as day labourers and earn the equivalent of £30 per month. This community needs health facilities.
Our sponsorship allows the staff of Assemblies of God Samandin Child Development Centre to provide Joêl with Bible teaching, health and hygiene instruction, field trips and school tuition as well as recreational, social and educational activities. The centre staff will also provide monthly meetings, HIV/AIDS awareness training and parenting skills classes for Joêl's parents.
