Gathering resources to make a Mesolithic stye house. Year 3 loved it...and we realised building Stone Age houses would have been hard work!

Explore to Learn

Year 3 made Scouse as part of our design and technology work during our Explore to Learn topic on Liverpool. It was great fun and the eating part went down particularly well!

Play in a Day

Year 3 getting creative in making a 'play in a day' based on our topic of Liverpool. Children here are creating a soundscape of the Liverpool Docks during its hey day. At the end of the day they performed their play to the rest of the school.

Explore to Learn

Design & Technology lesson learning about how the Ancient Egyptians transported water for farming.


The class designed their own device using materials readily available in Ancient Egypt. We then learnt about

how the Ancient Egyptians used a Shaduf to transport water for farming.


The class then made and improved their own model Shaduf. Great work Year 3!

BLACK HISTORY WEEK (w/c 6th October 2014)

Year 3 have been learning about the slave trade and its abolition through the work of William Wilberforce as part of Black History Week. This afternoon we looked at symbols of freedom in art and started to sketch out our own ideas about how freedom can be symbolised.

Walking in the footsteps of William Wilberforce. Children have been starting to think of their own manifesto if they were to stand as an MP, just like Wilberforce did, which led to him changing the laws on slavery in the British Empire.

NUMERACY

SCIENCE

Year 3 spent a Science lesson learning about how sounds travel and what can make sounds appear louder or quieter. We made megaphones to help our voices carry further.
