School Performance Data

Performance tables continue to sit at the heart of the Department for Education's accountability framework.

They focus the debate on standards and strengthen the accountability of schools and colleges. The tables also provide a reliable and accessible source of comparative
information on pupil attainment and progress, absence, workforce and finance.

For primary schools most data is published in December.  Information which isn't ready for publication in December is released as it becomes available.

The 2019/20 national curriculum assessments did not take place due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The latest official figures from the Department for Education (published in December 2019) show that 96% of pupils met the expected standards, with 32% of pupils achieving a higher standard. Nationally, 65% of pupils meet expected standards with 11% reaching a higher standard.  The figures show that Halewood CE is not only the best performing school in Merseyside but is also one of the best performing primary schools in England.

"In terms of the progress your pupils make between Key Stage 1 and the end of Key Stage 2, your school is amongst the top 3% of primary school in the country."

Rt Hon Nick Gibb MP, January 2020
