School Closure - Day 3

School Closure Day 3

Many thanks to all our parents and carers for either; keeping your child away from school, or, using us only as needed where you are in one of the situations below.

Without a doubt the safest place for your children is at home with you.  This will help save lives by minimising the spread of the virus and making our service available to those who need it to keep our country going in these unprecedented times.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our parents/carers who are working so hard to keep our country going, especially those who are in the frontline of hospital care.

We would like to reiterate our message … please only bring your child/children in if you absolutely have to.  Home with you is the safest place for them and you.  Below are the definitions of the two categories of children that may access our services.  If you fall into these groups, but can work from home please do so.

“Vulnerable children in this context include children who have a social worker and those children and young people with education, health and care (EHC) plans. Those who have a social worker include children who have a child protection plan and those who are looked after by the local authority. A child may also be deemed to be vulnerable if they have been assessed as being in need or otherwise meet the definition in section 17 of the Children Act 1989.

Critical workers are defined as parents whose work is critical to the COVID-19 response, including those who work in health and social care and in other critical sectors. However, many parents working in these critical sectors will be able to ensure their child is kept at home. Every child who can be safely cared for at home should be, to limit the chance of the virus spreading.”
