Class Teacher: Miss Sudworth
Teaching Assistant: Mrs Cammish
Teaching Assistant: Mrs Allen
We are so proud of all the children and how hard they are working. We hope you enjoy sharing all of our wonderful learning experiences.
Homework and Spellings will be handed out on a Friday and collected in the following Thursday. We believe that homework is important to help the children consolidate their understanding of what we have been learning that week. Please can you remind your child to place their homework into the homework box.
Reading books can be changed as often as the children wish as long as their reading diary has been signed to say that they have read at home. If your child is not enjoying a particular book, we are happy for them to choose another. Please use the question prompts sent home to support your child when reading.
Reading for pleasure is a key part in developing a child's love and enjoyment of reading. We would encourage you to share stories at home with your child and encourage them to read a variety of books, as well as their school reading book. On a Friday afternoon, we will check the children's reading record book in the hope they have read 5 times a week at home. Their name will then be placed into Mr Smith's golden box.
P.E - please ensure that P.E kits are in school.
During summer term, Year 1 will be attending swimming lessons on a Friday afternoon. Please ensure your child has a plain swimming costume/swimming trunks, school swimming cap, towel and goggles. A swimming cap can be purchased from the school office.
