  • Schools for Health: Food Fact of the Week

    Mon 30 Nov 2015 Administrator

    Food Fact of the Week

Fruit And Vegetables are great for Health. They’re a terrific source of all 3 substances your body needs to work well and grow.

    1. Vitamins

    2. Minerals

    3. Fibre

Our bodies can’t make vitamins or fibre. And we can’t absorb minerals direct from rocks but fortunately for us plants can! That’s why we need to eat plenty of fruit and vegetables because they contain loads of vitamins, fibre and minerals. The best way of making sure that we get enough is to eat at least 5 portions of different fruits and vegetables every day.

  • Children in Need

    Wed 11 Nov 2015 Administrator

This Friday is ‘Children in Need’ day. To help raise funds for this worthy cause, the children will be able to ‘spotify’ their school uniform and/or wear Pudsey accessories (i.e. headbands, wristbands). School uniform must still be worn. We are asking that the children bring in a small donation of at least £1. During the day the children will learn about how their money will make a difference to the lives of other children in this country and around the world.

    Tue 03 Nov 2015 Administrator

Congratulations to India Williams (Year 1) who has raised more than £2,000 this term for the Rainbow Children’s Charity which helps underprivileged children around the world (for example providing clean water, something India has been learning about in school this term).  India has won a special certificate from “Face of the Globe” pageants in recognition of the funds she has raised.  India has been competing in the Face of the Globe pageants and has recently won Mini Miss British Empire and Mini Miss Face of the Globe and will be representing the UK at the International Face of the Globe Finals.

India and her family have planned a 'ten cities in ten days' sponsored drive across Europe starting on Christmas Day and visiting London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Zurich, Rome, Monte Carlo, Barcelona and finishing in Paris on the 3rd January. They will be collecting for the charity along the way and will include a daily video diary by India which will be uploaded to Facebook.

    Well done India.
