- Overexposure to UV radiation is the main cause of skin cancer
- Some people are at higher risk of skin cancer
- A higher UV index value means a greater risk of skin damage
- Skin type helps predict how skin reacts in the sun
- The shadow rule helps determine when the sun is strong
- What are the effects of UV Radiation?
- Sunburn increases the risk of skin cancer
- There are a number of ways to protect yourself from too much sun
- Too much sun as a child can affect skin cancer risk

Shakespeare's "As you like it"

Collective Worship - The boy who cried wolf
Tue 24 May 2016What a fantastic collective worship with Mrs Davidson and Mrs Coleman. We just had to get up from our seats in the office to take a look. The way the message of "The boy who cried wolf" was delivered was just brilliant - we had character voices, acting and every child in school participating in some way. The important message was not missed on the children. Brilliant!

Great Summer Bake Off - Competition (26th May)
Tue 17 May 2016We are holding a Halewood CofE School ‘Great Summer Bake Off’ Competition. If your child would like to enter, they need to:
- Collect an entry form from school; there is a cost of £2 per entry.
- Bake and decorate their masterpiece; it can be a whole cake or individual cup cakes / fairy cakes.
- Bring their cake/s into school on Thursday 26th May.
Cakes will be judged throughout the day and various prizes will be awarded. At the end of the day, we will be holding a special ‘Bake Off’ sale at 2.30pm in school, where you are all invited to come and see the cakes and buy some. All proceeds will be donated to St Nicholas’ Church.
We look forward to seeing the wonderful talents of our children and welcoming you at our Bake Off sale, at 2.30pm on Thursday 26th May.

Picnic Box - £1.00 school dinner (19th May)
Tue 17 May 2016On Thursday 19th May, the normal school dinner will be replaced with a picnic box at a special cost of £1.
If you would like your child/children to have a picnic box, the £1 payment will need to be made via parent pay. Log in details have been supplied but can be given again if they have been misplaced.
