  • READING FOR PLEASURE: Spring Reading Adventure

    Reading for Pleasure

    Our school is participating in the Spring Reading Adventure competition hosted by the National Literacy Trust.  All children in Years 1-4 will be challenged to read for 10 hours (by the 18th March) and complete a simple, but fun, reading log as they journey through books.  They will be introduced to the popular series of Frankie’s Magic Football by Frank Lampard, or Magic Animal Friends by Daisy Meadows and there is a voucher that enables you to buy one of these books at half price should you wish.  There are prizes to be won so let’s get reading!!!!!

  • Make Believe Arts: Journey to the Centre of the Brain

    MAKE BELIEVE ARTS - JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE BRAIN

    On Tuesday (26.1.2016), Year 3-6 were captivated by Make Believe Arts' performance of "Journey to the Centre of the Brain".  The show incorporated actors, children, design, puppetry, music and above all… imagination!

     

    Journey to the Centre of the Brain tells the story of a 9 year old boy on the night before the BIG test. He is anxious and aware that he has not prepared. Unable to sleep he finds himself falling inside his own brain and begins a journey through his Neo Cortex, Hippocampus and Cerebellum to discover exactly how he learns and why he is feeling so anxious.

  • India Williams - Year 1

    India Williams completed the "10 Countries in 10 days" sponsored drive over Christmas raising several thousand pounds for the Rainbow Children's foundation.  She visited France, Monaco, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium and London - all in under 7 days!!

     

    Congratulations to India and her family for raising so much for charity.

  • Party Day - Thursday 21st January

    On Thursday 21st January it will be party day at school.  The usual school dinner will be replaced with:

     

    Filled finger roll (ham, cheese or tuna)

    Sausage roll

    Pack of crisps (baked)

    Cookie or muffin

    Carton drink

     

    Party Day menu is at a cost of £1.00 for KS2 children (reduced from £1.70).

  • Minister of State of Schools

    We have received a letter from Nick Gibb MP, Minister of State for Schools, congratulating staff and pupils for the very high standard of performance in the 2015 National Key Stage 2 tests. We are one of only 187 schools in the country where 100% of pupils gained a level 4B in reading and maths and level 4 or above in writing.
