Hungry Little Minds
Developing Communication, Language and Literacy
In July 2018, the Department for Education (DfE) announced the government’s ambition to halve in ten years the proportion of children who finish reception year without the communication, language and literacy skills they need to thrive. As part of this endeavour DfE launched Hungry Little Minds – a three-year campaign to encourage parents and carers to engage in activities that support their child’s early learning and help set them up for school and beyond.
This resource provides:
"Simple, fun activities for kids, from newborn to five
Children take everything in. They love it when you chat, play and read with them, even when they’re too young to understand everything.
You can turn almost anything into a game. And every little thing you do together will help set them up nicely for the day they start school."
