The Unique Child
Well-being and Levels of Involvement in the Early Years at Halewood CofE.
Care, Guidance and Support
At Halewood CofE, we pride ourselves on the levels of care, guidance and support we provide to every individual child.
We believe that every child is:
- special
- precious
- gifted
- talented
- a learner
- spiritual
In our school’s home-school agreement we pledge to provide a safe, secure and caring environment in which all children are encouraged to work hard and give of their best.
“Effective early years provision pays as much attention to children’s care as it does to play and learning as these are intertwined and impact equally on children’s development and overall well-being.”
Birth to Five Matters 2021 Pg 12
From our first encounters with a child and their family, we strive to build relationships of Christian love, trust, respect and honesty. Our transition plan ensures that children have a smooth transfer to our Nursery or Reception class and our Key Worker system ensures that the children have a familiar adult to build trusting, respectful and valuable relationships with. Our three school rules underpin everything we do in the Early Years setting:
Three R’s
- The right to feel and be safe
- The right to learn
- The right to be treated with respect
Kind hands, kind feet and kind words are used as a simple translation of these rules on a daily basis.
