Implementation of our Computing Curriculum

Our computing curriculum is divided into three broad areas; Computer Science, Digital Literacy and Information Technology.

In the autumn term, our children will look at Digital Literacy and focus on understanding just what computers are, how they work together and how they fit into the world we live in today. In spring term, children will focus on Computer Science and will explore coding and programming. Each year group will use different apps to apply and explore their learning. In summer term, children will be creators and focus on how they can use technology to create new things and alter things to make them better. Online Safety is a key safeguarding issue and making sure that our children are Digitally Literate and understand how to use technology responsibly and safely is of paramount importance to us. We have an Internet safety day once a year, solely focused on Internet safety, and have an e-safety focus each half term.
