Global Handwashing Day

It is "Global Handwashing Day" today. Teachers will discuss with our children the importance of hand hygiene and chat about familiar infections we have in this country.

The children are taught how to wash their hands and we have detailed below pictures which are similar to the ones that are displayed in all the toilets in school.

HANDWASHING

• Wet hands before applying soap as this prevents irritation.

• Rub hands together for about 15 seconds, making sure both sides of the hands are washed thoroughly: especially around the thumbs, between fingers and fingertips

• Rinse with clean water.

• Dry hands thoroughly preferably using a paper towel.
