Black History Week 2015
Mon 19 Oct 2015Black History Week 2015
This year's theme in black history week was 'Community Heroes'. We started the week by thinking about the importance of Black History Week. Throughout the week we celebrated different cultures and looked at significant people of the past and present. Each class had a specific area they studied including: music, art, sport, clothing and significant people. It was amazing to see our confident children present their learning in our celebration assembly. All our children participated in an African dance workshop. What a fabulous week celebrating equality and diversity.
Please go to the "Children" section of our website, then "Gallery", to see a slide show of the children taking part in Black History Week. -

Global Handwashing Day
Thu 15 Oct 2015It is "Global Handwashing Day" today. Teachers will discuss with our children the importance of hand hygiene and chat about familiar infections we have in this country.
The children are taught how to wash their hands and we have detailed below pictures which are similar to the ones that are displayed in all the toilets in school.
HANDWASHING
• Wet hands before applying soap as this prevents irritation.• Rub hands together for about 15 seconds, making sure both sides of the hands are washed thoroughly: especially around the thumbs, between fingers and fingertips• Rinse with clean water.• Dry hands thoroughly preferably using a paper towel. -
